River Hills is a very small village in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. It consists of a single neighborhood and is the 277th largest community in the state. This little community has a high rate of home ownership, good schools and low crime rates. It is located on the southeast part of the state and the Milwaukee runs along the entire western edge of the community. The community is somewhat ethnically diverse and zoned 100% for single family homes on five acre lots. There are no businesses allowed within the borders of River Hills it is completely residential in nature and has 640 households. The community was incorporated in March of 1930.

The community is decidedly white-collar in nature, with over 95% of its workforce holding white-collar positions. Working from home is popular there, with 7.65% of workers tele-commuting or working in small home based businesses. The city spans 5.31 square miles, 5.23 square miles of land area and .18 square miles of water area. The population in 2010 was 1,597 and the population density was 311.3 people per square mile. In 2010, the per capita income in the community was $107,390 revealing it as a wealthy suburban community. In 2013, the population had risen to 1,603, the estimated median household income was $183,763 and the per capita income was estimated at $107,310. In the same year, the estimated median house or condo value was $584,200, the mean housing price on all units was $170,561 and the median gross rent was $2,058.

Students from River Hills attend at schools of the Glendale-River Hills School District and the Maple Oaks-Indian Hills School District. The only school that is actually within River Hills is the Indian Hill Elementary School. The village is known for its quiet streets, sprawling green lots and gorgeous luxury homes. The village has a beautiful sculpture garden, the Milwaukee Country Club, the River Tennis Club and more. There are two designated landmarks in the village, the Lindsay/Stein House and the Donovan House. The Lindsay/Stein House is a seventeen room mansion that was built for the first president of River Hills, Walter S. Lindsay and the Donovan House, which is a Cotswold Style Manor House built for the Seamen family in 1929-1931.
